A Master Class in Crisis Communications
No industry has more experience in damage control than Big Tobacco. Our speaker, Matthew Winokur, spent more than 25 years in communications at Philip Morris in offices from Hong Kong to New York. To Matt, effective crisis communications begins with a comprehensive plan laying the groundwork with employees, media and other stakeholders long before any crisis actually occurs. And whether it's a natural event or health emergency, factory explosion, legal standoff, or human tragedy, you don't want Day One of your crisis to mark the first time employees meet senior executives.
Matt usually dispenses his wisdom as an adjunct faculty member at Baruch College in Manhattan. We are fortunate to have him. Bring your questions. This is sure to be an informative, thought-provoking session.
Large international companies (think recent news stories) and small, local storefronts have all learned the same lesson: every day in business has the potential to be a crisis. But if you think crisis communications is external only, you won't be ready.
Please RSVP online by noon, March 8. Light hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served. A $10 surcharge will be imposed on walk-ins.
